Meditation combined with reciting the Buddha's name
From Meditation guideAbout 1 min read

Meditation combined with reciting the Buddha's name means sitting in the correct posture, being aware of the whole body, and then reciting the Buddha's name gently with the breath.
Posture
Sit in the full lotus, back straight, still yet soft. Be aware of the whole body, especially the lower abdomen, and relax each part of the body. Avoid stiffening, and also avoid sitting slackly or hunching the back.
How to do it
When the posture has become well established, be aware of the whole body while reciting the Buddha's name with each breath, unhurriedly and without strain. When the mind is at peace, simply know the breath and let go of the recitation.
What to avoid
- Reciting the Buddha's name rigidly to the rhythm of the breath.
- Reciting while leading the energy around the microcosmic orbit.
The Teacher warns that these methods can cause chest tightness, dizziness, headaches or mental disturbance.
Accompanying foundations
Accumulate merit, keep to ethics, practise qigong and eat moderately, in order to avoid illnesses such as diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure.
Harmony
All the methods are expedients. The Teacher calls on the schools to take the Noble Eightfold Path as common ground and not to disparage one another.
